served two years as a captain in the Polish Army. He saw active service on the fronts in France, Poland and Russia. After his return Reverend Dekarski served as pastor of the Catholic Church at Coppon, Pa., for two years, and on Aug. 11, 1922, was transferred to South Fork.
    In politics Reverend Dekarski is identified with the Democratic party.




    Erastus S. Kagarise, supervising principal of the Adams Township schools, is a widely known educator of Cambria County. He was born at Salemville, in Bedford County, Pa., Dec. 12,1870, and is a son of Rev. George D. and Susan (Schaffer) Kagarise.
    Rev. George B. Kagarise, deceased, was a minister of the German Baptist Church. He died at Everett, Pa., Sept 7, 1893, and his wife died Feb. 16, 1895.
    Erastus S. Kagarise received his early education in the schools of Bedford County and was graduated from New Enterprise Academy and Lock Haven Normal School. He also took special work at Johns Hopkins University, University of Pennsylvania, and University of Pittsburgh. After teaching for three years in Bedford County he was appointed principal of schools at Baden, Pa., and from 1893 until 1919 was principal of the Martinsburg schools. While there he conducted summer courses in normal work and prepared over 1,700 teachers for their work in Blair and Bedford County schools. He has held his present position since 1919. He reorganized Adams Township High School from a third class to a first class high school. Its enrollment was increased from 28 students to 201 and the faculty from two to nine members. He also established its commercial department. C. E. Edwards is now principal of Adams Township High School. Mr. Kagarise has 55 teachers under his supervision, as follows: Dunlo has a faculty of 14 members, with W. H. Hostetler as principal; St. Michael has a faculty of 13 members, with Paul T. Krider principal; Eureka Mine has a faculty of five members, with Joseph Weaver principal; Salix has a faculty of three teachers, with Miss Elizabeth Stiffer principal; Santertown has a faculty of three members, with J. T. Schaffer principal.
    On June 25, 1895, Mr. Kagarise was married to Miss Bertha May Kerr, of Renova, Pa.,the daughter of Edward and Sarah (Barrick) Kerr. Mrs. Kagarise is a graduate of Lock Haven Normal School and before her
