Paul A. VanAllman is an energetic and successful young business man of Johnstown, where he is engaged in the drug business at 975 Franklin Street. He was born at Altoona, Pa., Dec. 22, 1897, and is the son of John and Margaret (Grove) VanAllman. W. C. Beckley is an enterprising merchant and highly esteemed citizen of Johnstown. He was born in Bedford County, Pa., Sept. 9, 1886, and is the son of William H. and Ellen (Oldham) Beckley. William H. Beckley, deceased, was for many years a prosperous farmer and stockman of Bedford County, Pa., of which he was an early settler. After completing his schooling in Bedford County, W. C. Beckley engaged in teaching school for four years, after which he entered the employ of the Cambria Steel Company. In 1912 he became interested in the grocery and meat business and established his present successful business at 700 Clark Street. Mr. Beckley is one of the reliable merchants of the city and handles high-grade merchandise exclusively. On June 10, 1910, Mr. Beckley was united in marriage with Miss Mary Clark, the daughter of A. L. and Anna Clark, of Johnstown. They have five children: Clark, Lyle, Helen, Paul and Dale. Mr. Beckley is a member of the Evangelical Church and is affiliated with the Masonic Lodge. He is a Republican and is vice president and director of the Dale Deposit Bank. |
